In the Community
The church, as a community of people who are followers of Jesus, is also here to serve a wider community - the people amongst whom we live.
We want to model how good community life can be when the Lord Jesus is trusted and followed. We want to share this ‘secret' with everyone else. Christianity is not ‘good advice' on how to be more ‘religious', but ‘good news' that cries out to be shared with others.
Sharing the love of God 'can be done by deeds' – lots of the ‘community life' activities described in this part of the web site, are designed to benefit the wider community in this way.
Sharing the good news of what Christ has done 'needs to be done in words'. The ‘community events' mentioned are opportunities for that to happen.
Our service in the community is broken down into 3 broad areas.
